  • What is the best class for my child? or myself?
    We are very happy to be able to provide classes for dedicated aged-group and language ability. This is what you need to know when booking your classes: Children with Spanish background (either mum, dad, nanny or childminder speaks Spanish at home) and they are able to understand Spanish although not speaking much. We welcome them to try our intermediate/advanced classes. We mainly speak Spanish at this class as the best immersion opportunity. My child is a beginner and is interested in the language or I am very happy for my child to start learning Spanish as a second language. They might know the numbers, the colours and basic vocabulary. We welcome them to try our beginners classes. We speak Spanish and English at this class. The graphic below will help you see the classes we offer

  • What happens after my first trial?
    Once you attend your trial class you will receive an invitation email to book for the remaining classes or advise from the teacher for your best class. If you don't heard from us please email us and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
  • Do I have to pay for the full term?
    We believe consistency is a key when learning a second language, therefore we do not offer PAYG options. The more opportunities we provide for children to be exposed to the target language the more learning opportunities for them.
  • When are your sessions in Eltham?
    Our Spanish sessions in Eltham take place on Saturdays and Thursdays during term time. Please see our time table here: https://el-recreo-spanish.class4kids.co.uk
  • What are your term dates?
    Our Weekdays and Saturday classes run during term time, holiday camps run during some days of the school holidays (please check our holiday camps available for more info) AUTUMN TERM September to December (12 weeks) WINTER TERM January - April (12 weeks) SUMMER TERM April - July (12 weeks)
  • Are there any public transport to Eltham Green Community Church?
    Eltham Station is a 10 minute walk to Eltham Green Community Church. Buses that stop nearest to the church are: 321, B15, B16. Nearest DLR station is: Lewisham Free residential parking The church is easily accessible from the Eltham, Greenwich, Lewisham, Blackheath, Woolwich, Bromley, Catford and Bexley areas.
  • How much do we charge?
    For our Spanish classes fees are: Saturday classes for children: First trial usually £11 most classes, £7 for Chiquititos, £8 Super Chiquititos, Bebitos £11 Adult and GCSE classes: £14 each class Free trials on specific dates, please follow us on facebook for the coming dates. Online group classes children 4-11 yrs £9 each class Private online classes please request info@elrecreo.co.uk
  • What are your terms and conditions?
    Terms and conditions for our Spanish club are as follows: Classes start and finish promptly on time We expect children to show respect for each other and staff at all times Fees are due before the first session of every term For drop-in pupils fees are due before the class starts Unfortunately, no refunds can be made for missed sessions We reserve the right to change fees/term dates and class times. However, we aim to keep changes to a minimal and inform as soon as possible For health and safety reasons, food is not allowed in our sessions Children are welcome to bring a bottle of water (no fizzy drinks or juice, please) Teaching might involve physical contact Copy of DBS Certificates are available upon request We do not accept the responsibility of any items lost or stolen, although anything we find will be placed in our Lost Property box at our Registration desk It is the parents/guardian’s responsibility to inform El Recreo of any medical conditions we need to be aware of For the safeguarding of other kids, parents are not allowed in the session itself
  • Can parents take part during the sessions?
    Parents are not permitted to take part due to child protection and health and safety policies. However, Bebitos, Chiquititos and Super Chiquititos sessions children must be accompanied by their parents.
  • How will I know if my child is progressing?
    Please email info@elrecreo.co.uk if you would like to discuss your child’s learning, alternatively you can speak to the teachers if they are available.
  • How do I get to your sessions in Eltham?
    You can get to Eltham Green Community Church, by car: From the M25 follow the A2 towards London. Turn off at Eltham, turn left we are just on the left hand side past the Co-op. From the Blackwall Tunnel follow the A102 till it becomes the A2 and turn off at South Circular A205, turn right and we are on the left hand side past the Co-op. by Train: From Eltham Station: We are a ten-minute walk from Eltham Train Station. Cross over the lights and walk down Sherard Road and turn right into Prince John Road. When you get to the small roundabout take the 3rd left and walk down Keynsham Road, at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit and go to the end of Lionel Road. Turn right and we are past the community centre on the right hand side. From Kidbrooke Station: We are a fifteen-minute walk from Kidbrooke Train Station. Walk south-easton Park Terrace towards Tudway Rd. Continue onto Boyd Way. Turn right onto Birdbrook Rd. Turn left onto Edgeworth Rd. Continue onto Pinnell Rd. Turn right onto S Circular Rd. Take the zebra crossing.     Yes! the purpose of this programme is to provide students with a range of skills including the general aspects of the language including grammatical and the relationship between spelling and sounds. This will be taught through listening, reading, speaking and writing interventions. Exam papers, bootcamps, group and private classes.   • What is the best class for my child?

  • Can my child try the class first?
    Yes! we offer free trials for our group classes. Your child is welcome to try the class and see if they would like to continue, additionally, the teacher will be able to advise what is the right class and level for your child.

  • How to make the most of my online class?
    1. Have a quiet room for the class so that children do not get distracted. 2. Please bring a notebook dedicated for the Spanish classes, pencil, rubber and colouring pencils, so that children can have all their learning in one place. 3. Check the resources we sent each term which can help reinforce children’s learning at home. 4. Please teach children the mute/unmute option so we can use it accordingly during the class. 5.     Our online classes run during school academic year on a weekly basis as below: AUTUMN TERM September to December (12 weeks) WINTER TERM January - April (12 weeks) SUMMER TERM April - July (12 weeks) Additionally, we might run extra workshops en school holidays or summer holidays, please check our timetable.
  • How can I request a private class?
    Please email info@elrecreo.co.uk requesting your class mentioning the age of the child or if is an adult the language level and any other useful information. We will get back to you with dates, times to arrange a consultation. In this consultation we asses the student, learn your objectives and goals and language ability and get to know each other.
  • How much do you charge for private online classes?
    We offer one-to-one and small groups private classes with the following guidelines: PRICES FOR ONE-TO-ONE CLASSES Classes for children 4-5 yrs, highly interactive 20 minutes classes (£15 each class). Classes for children 5 -11 yrs, 40 mins. classes (£30 each class). Classes for secondary school aged, GCSE and A-Levels, 60 mins. classes (£36 each class).   • When do you run the Holiday Camps?
    Most of our holiday camps run during the school half term breaks, For example: February, April, May, July-August, October. Some camps run for 3-4 days
  • Where do you they take place?
    We have different locations at different times f the year: Some of the locations are: ELTHAM Eltham Church of England Primary School SE9 1TR Roper Street * However the Drop off and pick up location is via Archery Road entrance (the green gate opposite Eltham leisure centre) * GREENWICH James Wolfe Primary School - Randall Place Campus SE10 9LA KENT Maidstone - Kent Hermitage Park Community Centre, Cranford Rd Allington ME16 9FZ ​
  • My child doesn't speak Spanish, can they still join the camps?
    Yes, all levels of Spanish are welcome. Our activities are for all levels of Spanish and we do target sessions for beginners and intermediate level. We aim to provide an environment where children from beginners to intermediate level can practice/learn the language and to include everyone in our activities so they get the most of the experience, and as always Spanish learning in a fun way!
  • What is a normal day like at El Recreo Spanish Holiday Camp?
    A normal day at our holidays camps consist of: MORNING: Board games and ice breaking games INTRO: Morning routines and songs (greetings, weather, days of the week, etc) SNACK TIME Reading time, play time indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) LUNCH TIME MAIN ACTIVITY: Intro to the topic with interactive presentation, songs and games Play time indoors or outdoors (weather permitting) CREATIVE TIME: craft, music or story time HOME TIME
  • What do they need to bring?
    Please bring your child in comfortable clothes, a waterproof jacket (depending on weather forecast), bottle of water as we will be playing in the school outdoor playgrounds, bring a packed lunch and snack (no nuts or fizzy drinks please as we have children attending with severe allergies).
  • Who is in charge of the Holiday Camps?
    Our teachers are DBS checked, trained and have experience working with children, they are also the current teachers at our Saturday club with experience in teaching Spanish and non-Spanish speaking kids.
